Am I a goth, punk, or gothic punk or what?

My friend called me a goth once and then turned around and called me a gothic punk. I love dark colors over the lighter ones even though pink and black i think go together perfectly. But other than that Dark colors r great espicaly dark blue, dark purple, etc. I have taken quizzes online but they tell me I'm only punk which I do not believe that. I do not think about death much cause it makes me think of my father but I love the black rose. Ilove shirts with skulls on em matter of fact thats whats on my pajama top. But I wear all colors to make people think I am normal. But I make sure that most of my clothing if not all of it has some black on it. I have a black hoodie and 2 head bands. I think black looks okay on me. I'm not to obessed with it but will wear itI mean y not I lost my father I am allowed to wear black or clothes that have black in em. Dark Colors Rule. Lol....Oh and I dyed my hair black on my birthday which was in October. So plz tell me what u think ty!!!

I think you're trying to categorize yourself for the wrong reasons.

Unless your proud of the label you've given yourself or the one people around you have given then just say that you are (insert your name here) and thats all.

So maybe you like a certain style of clothes, that doesn't really classify you as punk or goth or a punk goth. It just means you like dark colors.

To be honest you sound like a rather normal teen/young adult who just thinks it's awesome to wear dark colors and pink/red/purple with black and so on.

Here's the thing: Your look is trendy. Ever noticed tons of department stores selling (and celebrities wearing) things with skulls and/or crosses on them, deconstructed clothing, black nailpolish, and things like that? That's because it's quite "in" at the moment, or, well, it has been for the past two years or so. So it's not really out-there if you happen to be pulled in by the imagery. And tons of kids dye their hair black, although it is a look very few can actually pull off.

Whether you actually fit into any "subculture" would really depend on a combination of your personality, style, worldviews, and tastes in music, literature, art, etc.

And to be honest, the "hey day" (or highest point of popularity/notoriety) of both the "gothic" and "punk" subcultures are already over a decade gone...probably more like two decades and more by now. Most people aren't really "gothic" or "punk" anymore... they just have some generic "alternative look".

Punk is not bad or death-liking, thats more goth or emo, punk is rebel.

If you like black that much you may just be Dark but roses%26amp;skulls point to Goth or Punk...

You dont NEED to be classified but still people want to know WHAT they are, right?
