I am trying to think of a "homemade" halloween costume...I am a 15yr old girl and I want to be a rock star...what should I wear though? Again, I am using things that I already own, I donj't want to spend any $$$ on this costume...so what would you wear if you wanted to be a rockstar? Should I be a punk rockstar or like a 60s or 70s rockstar? btw, I have short/medium length hair, so it looks kind "edgey" (however u spell it...) Help???

Okay well I did this one year. Here閳ユ獨 two outfits you could wear:

1. Acid worn jeans with holes at the knees and still some thread hanging. For shoes converse sneakers and a leather jacket with a whiskey bottle poking out from the pocket. For shirt try a chain dark purple skull shirt, ripped at the bottom and stained with coffee to look like whiskey. For your make up black eye shadow (a smoke eye) to the brow, with purple lipstick and a studded choker. Also get a couple packets of grape cool aid (it閳ユ獨 affordable and washable) to dye your hair spiking it in wild directions.

2. Get a tight pin striped short skirt with a small chain hanging off the waist or a loose studded belt crookedly around your waist. Than get long school girl socks, black, and fishnets to pull over top. For shoes a pair of converse sneakers. Wear a simple dark shirt, place a stencil skull (available at Michaels or Wal-Mart) and paint in red finishing off the design with splats of red on top and around the shirt, tear the bottom slightly to shoe off tummy right below belly button, about a inch, or in your comfortable enough to the belly button with a fake stud in the belly button. Than use a black smoke eye, with grey and white to make your fake red eyelashes (Clair閳ユ獨, or Wal-Mart) pop. Get fake earrings to put from your ear lobe to the cartridge. For your lipstick get something dark, like purple or black. To top it off use elbow-length gloves with finger and thumb holes. You can top with a torn denim jacket. With a pretend smoke in hand (like a Popeye candy with red on the end). For the final touch, red or purple cool aid dye and spiked hair with a black streak!

Depends on what you have. Do you have combat boots, tights you can tear holes in, a shirt you can put safety pins through, tight shirts you can cut up, and hair gel or eggs to spike your hair? If so, go punk. If you've got a pair of skinny jeans, slouch boots, jean jacket, blue eyeshadow, and a crimper, be an 80's rockstar. Get online, look for pics of rockstars, and use what you have to copy their look. Good luck!

A little mousse and shiny jewelry and it's not hard to be Madonna in her l"Like a virgin" stage. Boy George is pretty recognizable from that era. If you have some other people it's fun to dress up like the YMCA guys. I works with a mixed group or just girls or guys. David Bowie in the video Blue Jeans had a great look and is workable for a girl. Ounce you decide thrift stores and the goodwill are cheap places to get your stuff. Have fun!
