Hey I am 13 and my mom said as long as I got good grades and stuff that I could get pink tips in my hair. I have dark brown curly/wavy hair, a little past my collarbones. I am also tan and have blue/gray eyes. I am trendy but I don't want to look emo/punk/skater/goth. Do you think I can get pink tips and not look like that? They would only be about an inch long. Thanks!

If you really want it, do it. Who cares if anyone will think you're trying to fit into some silly stereotype! One bit of advice, before you dye it, bleach the areas you want pink. It'll bring out the color alot more!

I think the pink would look cute with your hair color and as long as you dont start dressing emo or punk youll be fine, but go to someone who knows how to do diffrent types of tips because you may need hwlp with curly hair.

If you don't want to look emo/punk/skater/goth then don't. Brown and pink aint cute. Get high lights(not pink high lights), I had friends who have done the pink tips, high light, or the whole head pink. People really will think your punk or something. If you want to be creative,get wash out die and rock it for a day and see how people respond or if you like it.

Who cares if you end up looking like some stereotype. As long as you feel comfortable being yourself I don't think it should really matter. It's not like you're trying to fit into those stereotypes - you're just trying to be yourself.

So anyway, go ahead and get pink tips in your hair if you want. If you're in public school with strict rules then I don't know how they'll take you getting pink tips.

Just some advice: Bleach your hair with 30 vol. bleach (otherwise the pink won't show up). Once you bleach it, your hair should be a pale blonde. Then use Special Effects Atomic Pink if you want the dye to last a long time. If you want it to last a short time (a few days) use Manic Panic. If you want it to be somewhere in between, use Special Effects Cupcake Pink.

YES! I am also thirteen and got red tips- they help to express yourself and I got a lot of compliments. But be prepared- a lot of people followed and also tipped their hair, so don't do it if you don't like copycats. However, they are only copying because they like it :)
