just be you and make your own thing, what's the difference? I'm not any of those things, so i wouldn't really understand. it's just a suggestion.

I'm not a big fan of stereotypes...you are who you are, and nothing can change that, not even label's, labelling yourself holds you back, and only tells you what you CAN'T do...but if you remain true to yourself, more doors lay open so-to-say. Just my humble opinion :)

I know it is normal for high school kids to classify their entire personality and identity by their clothes and music, but in the real world none of this means a damn thing. You should just do what you want and hang out with whomever you want. If you are 19 or 20 and still think about things like this, then your superficial stereotype is immature loser.
What superficial stereo type: Emo, Gothic, Punk?
None of those. Your superficial stereotype is scene kid. It sounds like you follow trends to fit in and aren't who you really are. Honestly, who cares what superficial stereotype you are? Jees.
What superficial stereo type: Emo, Gothic, Punk?
pick sides, great, now on top of racism and other serious issues, we have stereotypism. This is ridiculous. As your question states, these stereotypes are superficial. A status symbol? don't think so....you, and your 'friends' are just people. Plain old people. Tell them that's the side your on. The side that doesn't have sides....you're human.
What superficial stereo type: Emo, Gothic, Punk?
None of the above. You sound Hardcore/Scene. Don't let people label you though, you are what you are.

Be yourself. If you look for a "label" and listen to others, you'll loose your uniqueness!

you sound more goth to me,
but dont let that ruin your friendships
you dont need to pick a side

OK....
First off... I hate stereotypes in general.... What I would do, is tell ALL of them, that you are what you are.
Just to clarify, EMO, is sort of a NEW age version of Goth.... Goth is more these days SHOCK, and Punk is just punk.
When you see the way the "cliques" act, when they are by themselves, that should tell you where you most fit in. All if them are particulary the "loner" groups, EMO and Punk are more the rebellious ones, yet, EMO and GOTH are also the "depressed" one. And Goth and Punk are mostly freaks. I mean, this is all of stereotypes that I tell you all of this.
In all essence, a true "goth" is normally the artsy one. The one that is a loner, knows what they want in life, and gives 2 shits less what others think. They love to stand out, yet hate to conform. That is what I have experienced from all of my "goth" friends.
Punks, normally don't care about most anything. Hence the name "punk". They are generally more hard core, and fight authority.
And Emo, are also very artistic, yet more emotional, hence EMO-EMOtional. Emo's are more in touch with how they feel, and enjoy presenting that to the public. They are not afraid to do so, where Punks try to hide it, and be badass, and Goth's deal with it on their own, with out crying to the world.
In all essence, your "true" friends in all of those cliques will stick by you no matter what "image" you portray.
DO not conform, just be your self. Believe me, you will be happier in the long run.
