I want to find my style?

currently, my style consists of jeans (sometimes ripped) converse or flats, and band tees. I hardly ever tie my hair up. I've been wondering if I actually needed to kinda 'upgrade' my look to something 'nicer' or 'more interesting' like..an eclectic, vintage, mod, glam, gothic, Grunge, Rocker, Punk, new-wave kind of look.. any suggestions? I really like the rocker/grunge kind of look, but I also really admire Debbie Harry's style from the 70s, as well as Joan Jett, ,Kim Gordon, Kat Bjelland, and Courtney Love (early 90s) Lately I've been wondering if I should start dressing more preppy or 'neat' (even though my friends tell me they'd kill me if i turned 'prep')

I say you should continue wearing those specific articles of clothing if that's what you like. I wouldn't start dressing more preppy if that's just not you. People will be able to tell if your trying to be someone your not and that's how many are labeled as a poser. If you are really considering dressing a bit neater, then you could completely ditch the ripped jeans and maybe go for a fitted band t-shirt rather then baggy.

If your bored with the jeans and band t-shirt combination, you could always get a denim mini and pair it with some leggings. I would avoid plain black leggings as that's what everyone is wearing at the moment. I would look around for a pattern pair of leggings (stripes, polkadots, solid colour other then black). You could wear that with your converse shoes or flats depending on what they look like. Also... makeup is something that can always mix your look up. You could experiment with different make-up styles and I'm sure you'll be able to achieve a great look of your own.

Oh and you could purchase some different types of jewelry to add to your everyday look. Black beads, pearls, bangles, whatever you wish! Just stay true to yourself..=)

well, if you are thinking its time to change it probably is. Id stick with jeans for now, change too much at once and your likely to go into shock. Id start with shoes. There are some really funky and unique shoes out there that wont place you into one style so you can wear em a lot. Id grap some different tops too. a little color would be a nice change from babnd tops. But take it slow. buy an item or 2 here and there. Why spend a ton of money when still trying to find the new you?
