for the last 5 years we lived isolated in the center of 100 acres of a florida forest, but I at least had a couple of my husbands family to interact with daily. Now we have moved I have no friends and I am not very social. 99% -99.9% of all words that come out of my mouth are to our 3 year old daughter. You need to get out and start meeting people. Join a gym and take a pilates class or other workout class. You may even be able to take a swim class with your daughter and will most definitely meet other moms like yourself. Or take a night class at a local community college. Chances are that you'll meet other people your age with kids and maybe you can set up playdates. That'll give both you and your child a social outlet! And trust me, at first glance you may not know that some of these other moms used to ride skateboards and dye their hair funky colors, but start talking! You'll find out they aren't so different from you!

Why do you feel your associations should be only with people who think JUST LIKE YOU? I have friends from all walks of life because I want to hear other opinions. Would it be such a tragedy for someone to want pink hair rather than blue? OMG... Sweating Bullets!!! Get the point, yet? I am sorry that you are having a tough time. I recommend that you find a church that you enjoy. Church is a great place to find friends that live close to you.
