Hair issue!! HELP!?

I have naturally curly hair. I hate it!!! Because only part of it is like that. But I always put it in a ponytail because it's a pain in the a s s to straighten, it literally takes me 1-2 hours. But I am more of a "punk chick" and I can't really keep that image if it's up! (I have pink dye in it and stuff.) But because it takes so long to straighten, I can hardly ever wear it down for school. Is there anything that can make my hair naturally straight that isn't expensive? (Cause I need to pay for it myself and I'm only 13.) Or a quick and easy straigtener? Also, I have insanely thick hair. I have had hairstylists that have problems doing certain things because it's so thick. Lots more hair to straighten!! PLEASE HELP!

Thanks in advance!

"Rebond" your hair. I answered a question like this before try searching for the details on rebonding... it's permanent hair straightening... which means you can't get it to curl anymore unless your natural hair grows back!

I have the same problem. My hair is insanely thick and just gets frizzy when I attempt to straighten it. To stop with problem, maybe get a haircut? But if you don't want to do that, perhaps try Biosilk. I keep hearing it's a good product. It might be. But your best bet would be to ask a hairstylist what's best to do.

Same with me!!! I also have really long hair that is curly, and my mom doesn't let me straighten it much because it is so long and expensive.

Whenever I do to a hairstylist, I ask them for this shine thing that is called bebe or something like that. It not only makes your hair really shiny, but straightens it a little bit too, and it smells really good. When I do want my hair cut, I layer it, so that it is not that thick. Also when I want my hair curly, but nice curls, I soak it in water, then let it dry natural. That way, it looks really nice.

I also have long thick hair and love my hair straight. When I get out of the shower I put a mix in it of: heat protector (love Avon's Advance tech's intensive repair - keeps it in shape), Paul Mitchell's 'skinny serum' and some straightening lotion (Wal-Mart has several). Then I blow dry it (w/Diffuser) to about 1/2 dry just to give it some 'direction' and to prevent it from pouncing back to it's normal wavy/curly self. When I get up in the morning I spray on Suave Sleek Heat protectant spray (Matrix knock-off and works just as well) and plug up my straightener.

I use a 2" straightener and straighten my hair from the roots down. All of this only adds about 10 minutes max to my morning routine. If you use a heat protector, keep your hair in good shape and don't overuse the straightener, it will not be a lengthy process. You could even do it at night so you wouldn't have to fuss w/it in the morning. Depends on when you shower and style your hair.

There are some wet/dry straighteners out there but I've always heard/read that straightening your hair when it's not dry robs it of moisture.

You might also want to consider having a stylist put a 'straightener' in your hair. The best ones are EXTREMELY expensive but even a mediocre one with a plan of straightening it daily might work.

Good luck!

Hair issue!! HELP!?

Yeah, I had the EXACT same problem (well...my hair wasn't pink) and I always had to pull it back or put it up and it was horrible!

Finally, I got so fed up with it so I went to the hair salon and asked them what they could do.

I don't know how they did this, but they cut certain parts of my hair (they put layers in it as well) and thinned it out. You can also get your hair chemically straightened, but I wouldn't do that because you have to constantly touch up on it (it's like "invisible hair dye"), it kills your hair, and it's expensive.

So...yeah, just get it thinned out, blow dry it everyday, and straighten it. It's a lot easier.

Good luck!
